Introducing:

The High Resolution Graphics Mod by LogicSequence

Do you like eye candy? Do you wish Galactic Civilizations 2 had Higher Resolution textures? Do you wish the planets and solar systems looked more realistic? Do you think your PC can HANDLE IT?

Welcome players of Galactic Civilizations 2, to The High Resolution Graphics Mod by LogicSequence. I've been developing this mod for some weeks now, and the time is near for it's release.

In short, this mod will:
Replace the textures for all the races' homeworlds with new, original higher resolution versions.
Replace all Class 0 planet textures with new, original higher resolution versions.
Replace all ring and moon textures with new, original higher resolution versions.
Replace all cloud textures with new, original higher resolution versions.
Include authentic all-new Raw Terrain maps for all of the races' homeworlds.
Add more color variation to the background nebulae.

This mod isn't for the older PC. Some of the textures in this mod are 4096 x 2048 pixels, and many are 2048 x 1024, or 1024 x 512. If your PC meets the recommended system requirements for Galactic Civilzations 2: Dark Avatar, you should be able to run this mod without any problems.

I put faith in my Norton Anti-Virus and installed anyway. Once the little adware demon was killed I have enjoyed a new view of GalCiv II. I was a little irked by how the Mod section of my Ultimate Edition (2.02.007) is screwed up. This was easly bypassed by editing the Prefs.ini

C:\Documents and Settings\...\My Documents\My Games\GC2TwilightArnor\Prefs.ini  (XP path)

[Line 89] ModsDir=E:\GalacticCiv II\Twilight\Mods\High Resolution Graphics Mod v2

*I didn't use default install dir. so pick your own.

I didn't have to sign up to download. It nags you to sign up, I did anyway but I had downloaded the Mod before I went to that step.

  2. HRGMod2.0_Setup.zip (131.19 MB)

Honestly, I couldn't make out from the readme if you only needed the 2nd Mod. So if anyone knows better speak up

There any chance of getting it uploaded to a different site? I live in Maine and thus cannot connect to i-mod.

Maine has lost access there too?

Darn, i thought Quebec and Ohio & the whole UK were the only ones affected by this WAN routing flaw by North-American ISP servers.

on Apr 18, 2009

Yeah, it's really annoying ;/

I tried to use a proxy to get by it, but with no luck.

I dont have NOrton Anti-virus....

What other options do I have?

I have GCII The Ultimate Ed and I'm trying to activate the High Resolution Mod V2.0 by Logic Sequence. I have it installed and can view the files in the Mods folder, but when I try to find the Mod in the Mod List directory, it is not there.

What am I doing wrong?

Dead link - very professional.

Logic Sequence hasn't been around for awhile to update the link. The mod can be found at ImodProductions Site now. I think you have to be registered(simple process) to download there though.

No because if you go there you do not have authorization to go to the download page, so you register thinking that will help, giving the site your email address of course, and it STILL says you are unauthorized to access the download page!

All 3rd party sites either have the same link as here, leading to a 404 page, or links to the registration page for I-Mod where many will register only to find they still do not have permission. it's almost a pyramid scheme as far as I can see, and if i start getting a load of spam, i'll know where it's coming from...!

Does the above works for DL?

Does the above works for DL?

Hmmm been a while since i had this mod, and in fact i had forgot about, i'm glad you posted in here, it reminded me to have to download and reinstall the MV compatible version.
Anyway i digress, from memory, no, i don't think it does, i think it was for DA and above only.

Once i download it i'll check the .readme and post back your you.

Tried to follow up this link, but that website has been decommissioned. Where can we download all the mods? Is there a central place for them?

on Nov 16, 2012

Here is a link to the page for 2.0 of the mod.

The download link worked for me as of today. It's through the I-Mod site here:

http://www.i-mod-productions.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=78

But it didn't ask me to register or anything. Just clicked the download button and all was good.

Greetings! I'm new to modding and I was wondering if this mod will improve the texture quality of objects for the ULTIMATE edition that is sold on Steam?
